The Badaling Great Wall is a segment of the Great Wall of China situated in Yanqing District, Beijing. It dates back to the early 16th century, when it was constructed during the Ming Dynasty to fortify the northern entrance of the main passageway through the mountains to Beijing.

The Badaling Great Wall features ramparts and towers made of large, rectangular bricks, with crenellated outer walls that reach up to two meters in height. The restored section of the Badaling Great Wall exemplifies the peak of Ming Dynasty-style wall engineering.

The Badaling Great Wall underwent repairs and opened to tourists in 1957. It was the first section of the Great Wall to be accessible for visitors, and it remains one of the most popular attractions in China. Numerous Chinese leaders and foreign dignitaries have toured the Badaling Great Wall, including former US President Richard Nixon and former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher.
